Linda was born in Winnipeg and then spent her toddler years in Goose Bay Labrador. From there, her early teenage years in Alberta, and finally to this beautiful Westcoast of BC. She now happily resides in Fort Langley with her husband.
From the beginning, Linda was inspired by Nature. Her father was very artistic, and her mother had a tender love and adoration of birds. The natural world was an integral part of her life and has remained so. This awareness and love of the natural world grew into her art, with drawings and watercolour paintings focusing on, for example: seashore, woodland, rivers, and birdlife in particular. Linda is dedicated to conservation efforts, and often donates part of her painting income to organizations that are working to protect these precious places.
Linda is also enthralled by the creative potential of the journalling process. Her journal work has inspired many workshops that introduce her ideas and approaches to others. Her journals are a woven exploration of writing and art.
Linda has taught in the public school system, and at Simon Fraser University in the teachers’ education program. She has given many workshops on creative teaching techniques and taught watercolour workshops throughout BC., as well as watercolour retreats in Spain. Linda’s watercolour classes are held in her home studio and fill up very quickly, as do her Creative Journal Workshops.
Her watercolour paintings have been featured in numerous solo shows, group shows, and have been accepted into international completions. She is a member of the Artists for Conservation, and has had her paintings featured in American Artist magazine.
